iProdcutions released a special version of the film Al Daif (The Guest) for audiences with hearing and speech impairments accompanied with Arabic closed captions at Odeon Downtown and Mirage Mall cinemas. Another version of the film was also subtitled in English at Zamalek Cinema, Cine Cinema El Gouna, Nile City, Point 90, Golden Stars, Americana Plaza, VOX Mall of Egypt and VOX Alexandria.
At the premiere night of Al Daif, iProdcutions organized a special screening for the audience members with hearing and speech impairments. The screening was attended by Faten Salah, Director of El Amal for Deaf & Hearing Impaired School; a number of students; and Nadia Abdallah, Head of the Egyptian Foundation For the Rights of the Deaf and Sign Language Interpreters; alongside a number of the members of the foundation.
Al Daif was released Egyptian theaters on Sunday, January 6, in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria and the governorates.
Directed by Hadi Elbagoury and written by Ibrahim Eissa, the film stars Khaled El Sawy, Ahmed Malek, Shereen Reda and Jamila Awad, alongside guest stars Maged El Kedwany, Mohamed Mamdouh, and Mahmoud Al Lithy.
Al Daif marks the second collaboration between writer Ibrahim Eissa and iProductions after Mawlana. It is also the company's second time to work with Director Hadi Elbagoury after Hepta: The Last Lecture that is the highest-grossing romantic film in the history of Egyptian cinema with revenues more than EGP 27 million. This is the first collaboration between Eissa and Elbagoury.
Within its world premiere, Al Daif won the Audience Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia where it had a full-house screening. The film marks the sole Egyptian and African film in the official competition of the festival, and the first participation of an Egyptian feature film in the official selection of the festival, which is one of the festivals with the classification of A with 14 international festivals around the world.
