The premiere of Al Daif (The Guest) was attended by director Hadi Elbagoury and writer Ibrahim Eissa last night, Tuesday, at Nile City Cinema. The event witnessed an extensive crowd of attendees, including journalists, TV channel representatives, public figures, politicians, intellectuals, writers, and actors. A discussion was held in the waiting room afterwards to exchange opinions on the themes dealt with in the film.
Among the attendees were the film’s stars Shereen Reda, Ahmed Malek, Jamila Awad Maged El Kedwany, and Mahmoud Ellithy, as well as the film’s director Hadi Elbagoury, writer Ibrahim Eissa, Costume Designer Reem El Adl, Production Supervisor Ahmed Fahmy, DOP Mazen Al Motagawel, Editor Ahmed Hafez, Sound Mixer Ahmed Gaber, and Sound Engineer Ramy Osman.
Alongside the filmmakers and the stars of the film, the most prominent attendees were political figures Amr Moussa, Amr El-Shobaki, Farouk Hosny, and Engineer Naguib Sawiris; as well as actors Mohamed Farrag, Ali Eltayeb, Elham Shahin, Hala and Hana Shiha, Yasmin Raeis, and Randa Awad. In attendance were also Engineer Mahmoud Taher, former President of Al Ahly Club; and media figures Gamal Fahmy, Lamis Elhadidi, Islam El Behiry, Bothaina Kamel, Adam Mekkewy, in addition to intellectuals Dr. Khaled Montaser, Tharwat El-Kherbawy, Farida El Choubachy, Attorny Ziad El Elaimy, and Father Boutros Daniel. Writers Medhat El Adl, Tamer Habib, Mohamed Sadek and Haitham Dabbour were also keen to attend, together with directors Magdy Mohamed Ali, Amir Ramses, Karim El Shenawy, and Sandra, in addition to DOP Ahmed Al Morsy and Amr Mansi, the Executive Director of El Gouna Film Festival.
Moreover, iProductions, the company behind the production of the film, organized a special screening event for audiences with hearing and speech impairment to watch a version of the film with Arabic closed captions.
The film hit Egyptian theaters on Sunday, January 6, in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria and other governorates. The company increased the number of screens on January 9, the previously set date for the film’s release.
Directed by Hadi Elbagoury and written by Ibrahim Eissa, the film stars Khaled El Sawy, Ahmed Malek, Shereen Reda and Jamila Awad, alongside guest stars Maged El Kedwany, Mohamed Mamdouh and Mahmoud Ellithy. The Guest tells the story of a young man who visits a family during dinner, and then the events develop in a direction that no one expects.
Al Daif marks the second collaboration between writer Ibrahim Eissa and iProductions after Mawlana. It is also the company's second time to work with Director Hadi Elbagoury after Hepta: The Last Lecture that is the highest-
