Ahmed Fahmy, Managing Director of iProductions presented the CineGouna Platform Award for films that are in development to the Palestinian film project Gaza DC by director Rashid Masharawi. The award is worth $10,000 offered by iProductions, as one of the Platform's sponsors, at the closing ceremony of the CineGouna Platform at the 2nd El Gouna Film Festival.
The film is written by Rashid Masharawi and co-written by Ibrahim Al Zein. Part of the award will be used for production, cinematography and casting.
The film project competed among 12 projects in development selected by experts from 101 submitted projects to the CineGouna Platform, including long features and feature documentaries.
The company screened its latest film Gunshot by director Karim El Shenawy and writer Haitham Dabbour screened within the Out of Competition section at the 2nd El Gouna Film Festival. Gunshot is set to release in Egyptian theaters starting Wednesday, October 3.
iProductions's latest work is the controversial drama film Sheikh Jackson, which was released last year in 2017. The company is getting ready to release the new film Al Deif (The Guest) by Hadi ElBagoury.
