Managing Director of iProductions, Ahmed Fahmy presented iProductions award to Bye Bye Tiberias documentary film project, by director Lina Soualem.

The $10,000 worth award from iProductions is granted for the third consecutive year to one of the unique film projects in the development phase at the CineGouna SpringBoard. The program is one of the operating initiatives of CineGouna Platform, held on the sidelines of the 4th edition of El Gouna Film Festival.

Bye Bye Tiberias features Hiam Abbass who left her village in Palestine, thirty years ago, to follow her acting dream in France. Filmed by her daughter Lina Soualem, Hiam reflects on her chosen exile and on the way the women of her family, who she left behind, influenced her path and her «non-standard» choices.

Previously, iProductions granted two awards at CineGouna SpringBoard, one of which went to Gaza DC by Director Rashid Masharawi and the other to Straight to the Goal by Tamer Ashry.

Organized by CineGouna Platform, CineGouna SpringBoard is a project development and co-production lab that enables Arab film directors and producers with projects in development or films in post-production to find artistic and financial support.

CineGouna Platform is an industry-oriented event created to support and empower filmmakers and industry professionals, aiming to develop promising film projects from Egypt and the Arab world and help them find artistic and financial support.
